The students of Europe against discrimination
They represent over 11 million students in Europe! And have committed to work actively against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. Thank you!
ESU States:
In schools and Universities worldwide, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender youth (LGBT) experience discrimination. They are harassed and exposed to violence. The widespread discrimination against LGBT pushes them out of educational institutions or forces them to live in hiding and fear.
Both students and academics experience discrimination because of sexual orientation or gender expression. Discrimination is a big hindrance for all to complete their education, live in dignity and participate in society on equal terms. All have equal right to education, and educational institutions have a responsibility to actively prevent discrimination.Education is a right for all: discrimination is unacceptable!
- We demand that all Institutions of Higher learning worldwide become discrimination-free zones.- We commit to having an active policy against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation. - We wish to bring up the subject with our national and international collaboration partners
