Rusty Radiator Awards 2014
In 2013 SAIH established its own award for the most harmful and the most creative charity videos: The Rusty Radiator & The Golden Radiator Awards. The purpose of this international award is to shed light on and change the way large aid organisations communicate. The idea evolved through SAIH's work with our view of the South and the music video Radi-Aid: Africa for Norway from 2012.
December 2nd it all breaks lose – read more about the event on Facebook!
This Year’s Nominees
The nominated charity videos are selected by this year's international jury, who represents different interest fields from different parts of the world.
The Rusty Radiator Award goes to the charity video which contains the most stereotypical images. This type of communication is an unfair presentation of the people in the campaign, hindering long-term development and the fight against poverty.
This year’s nominees for the Rusty Radiator are Save the Children USA, Concern Worldwide, Christian Children's Fund Canada, and Feed a Child South Africa.
The Golden Radiator Award goes to the most creative charity video, which manages to spread its message without the use of stereotypical images. This year’s nominees in this category are Save The Children UK, Oxfam and SOS Children's Villages Norway.
Remember to vote for your favourites – within November 30th!
