Invitation and more information about SAIHs Vårsamling 2009

We will be at Oksnøen Leirskole, which is situated one hour south of Oslo by train. This map shows you where in Norway it is (it does, however, not correctly point out Oksnøen Leirskole).

Accommodation will be in cabins, and everybody will have to bring their own sleeping bags and towels. If you don’t have a sleeping bag, please let us know!

We start at 17:00 Friday 27th of March, and end at 15:00 on Sunday 29th of March. It is important that you all stay until the end! You can find the programme, and recommended travel options attached. Make sure you inform us when and how you arrive, so that we can arrange shuttle from the train station and the airport.

The Spring Gathering will be a lot of fun, with a lot of cool guests and engaged participants. We have invited participants from SAIH local chapters, ISU local chapters, and student politicians. Furthermore we will have a partner from South Africa visiting us for the workshops!

Workshops:

There will be two parallel workshops throughout the weekend. All participants will need to choose one of the workshops and stick to it both days.

Workshop 1: Political expressions through poster art

: CDP is one of SAIHs partners. They work for the strengthening of women rights and situation in South Africa. Among other things they focus on using design of posters as a means of political expression. That’s what this workshop will be about. The participants will learn how to use creativity to design a poster that expresses a statement. We will not print the posters in the workshop, but rather sketch it and have an opportunity to print it on a later occasion.

Workshop 2: Video and internet in the information work

Want to learn how to make a short video that actually says something, make it look professional, and put it out on the internet? This is SAIHs project of modernization. It’s all about the internet, nowadays!

* There are not many grocery shops around Oksnøen Leirskole, so you should bring whichever drinks you’d like for the party
