Our House, Our Rules

We can't wait for the leadership. We're making the university apartheid-free – one zone at a time.
As students, researchers, or staff, we spend a lot of time on campus. Lecture halls, libraries, cafeterias, and offices are our shared spaces – places we shape, share, and take responsibility for.
The genocide in Gaza, the long-standing occupation of Palestine, and Israel's apartheid policies concern us all. Israeli academic institutions have for decades contributed to serious violations of international law, yet Norwegian universities and colleges hesitate to take a clear stance.
Through the international BDS campaign, we can take matters into our own hands. By making your part of the university an apartheid-free zone, we build a university free from apartheid – one zone at a time.

What is an apartheid-free zone?
An apartheid-free zone (AFZ) is an area, organization, or community that actively rejects apartheid, occupation, and oppression.
Being an apartheid-free zone means making a conscious choice not to collaborate with, purchase from, or legitimize institutions, companies, or products that support or maintain Israel’s violations of international law.
By declaring yourself an apartheid-free zone, you show solidarity with the Palestinian people and help build spaces – in universities, workplaces, and civil society – that stand for human rights, academic freedom, and justice.
