Universidad de las Regiones Autónomas de la Costa Caribe Nicaragüense - URRACAN

URACCAN, the first intercultural university in Latin America, was established to provide higher education in local languages and serves a diverse and multilingual population along the Nicaraguan Caribbean coast. Through CRISSAC, URRACAN works to preserve and develop traditional knowledge and offer an education that is based on the needs and knowledge of the local communities.

SAIH has collaborated with URACCAN since 1994 and supports research, study programs, student democracies and advocacy that promote intercultural higher education.
