PTUZ was established in 1998 and is a trade union representing more than 20,000 teachers.
PTUZ plays a crucial role in protecting the rights and interests of more than 20,000 teachers in Zimbabwe. With a regime exerting significant control over the education sector, attacks on academic freedom and underpaid teachers, it is crucial to organize with a common voice.
SAIH supports, among other things, PTUZ's advocacy work to improve teachers' pay and working conditions.
