Higher education for women in Afghanistan
In 2023, SAIH entered into partnership with the Grieg Foundation to pilot a project that will facilitate and support digital access to higher education for women in Afghanistan.
This is following a ban introduced by Taliban the year prior, which made Afghanistan the only country in the world to officially restrict all women and girls from accessing education beyond the 6th grade.
Through this project SAIH will collaborate with various experienced universities outside of Afghanistan to provide female Afghan students with digital higher education opportunities that can allow them to continue learning, building their degrees and expanding their academic networks, despite the difficult circumstances.
