The University of Oslo (UiO), in collaboration with 15 universities from around the world, has taken the initiative to develop a global university for refugees and internally displaced persons. The initiative is being developed in collaboration with UNHCR, the Norwegian Refugee Council, and SAIH with support from the Grieg Foundation.
UiO brings together universities from Africa, Europe and North America in the Global UniversityAcademy to improve and increase access to higher education for refugees and their communities. The collaboration aims to provide refugees in several countries with the opportunity to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees, in collaboration with local partners and refugee-led organizations.
