Students and academics play a decisive role in political change. Many are therefore exposed to persecution and sanctions by their authorities. Expulsions, dismissals, persecutions, harm, suppression or murders due to academic activities and utterance are unfortunately occurring frequently.

SAIH wants you to urge Norwegian institutions of higher learning to join forces in a campaign of solidarity in reaction to the grave situation facing many academics in the world. A concrete way to do this is to intensify the effort and become an active member of the Scholars at Risk network

The Scholars At Risk Network works to promote academic freedom and university autonomy primarily by arranging temporary positions at member institutions for academics who for political reasons cannot carry out their work at their own institutions.
