Children affected by conflict are often deprived of their right to education. Education in emergency refers to a range of education activities put in place to sustain and support the right to education in emergencies, chronic crises and early reconstruction phases. This article explains how the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) provides basic education to internally displaced and returnee children through the Alternative Approach to Basic Education (AABE) in Somaliland.
